Vladimir Putin congratulated faculty members, students and alumni of the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute under the Vakhtangov Theatre on its 100th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The anniversary of one of the country’s oldest theatre schools is a great and truly festive event in Russia’s public and cultural life and in the history of national dramatic art. The Institute has always been known for its traditions, outstanding teachers and mentors, and its atmosphere of creativity and spirituality. The school’s special pride is the galaxy of its alumni – extraordinary, talented and dedicated actors, directors, critics and theatre historians.
It is important that as you develop, implementing outstanding and interesting projects, you carefully preserve the rich heritage of your predecessors – the famous ‘Vakhtangovites’.”
