Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s road sector former and current workers on their professional holiday – Road Workers’ Day.
The message reads, in part:
“The road sector is rightly considered one of the key sectors in Russia’s economy. It creates a unified economic space and ensures the regions’ stable economic and industrial development. This is why the state authorities pay such heightened attention to improving the road infrastructure.
Today, you have important and responsible tasks ahead. First of all is to modernise the road network and actively spread the use of advanced technology and materials that will make our roads safer and more reliable. Particular attention must focus on training highly qualified personnel and making effective use of the latest international experience.
I am sure that road sector workers will continue to make a big contribution to strengthening Russia’s economic potential.”
