Vladimir Putin congratulated President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on Uzbekistan’s Independence Day.
In his congratulatory message, the President of Russia noted Uzbekistan’s success in economic and social development, as well as the nation’s current role on the global arena.
Mr Putin gave a high assessment to Russian-Uzbekistani relations of strategic partnership and alliance, which are an important factor in ensuring stability, security and prosperity in Central Asia.
The President also expressed confidence that through their joint efforts, Russia and Uzbekistan will continue successfully expanding constructive bilateral ties in various areas, and broadening cooperation in resolving current issues on the regional and international agenda in the interests of the two friendly nations.
