Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Fouad Massoum on his election as President of the Republic of Iraq.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“Our countries have friendly relations and we are steadily developing these ties. I am sure that our continued efforts to build up all areas of our mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation are in full keeping with our peoples’ interests and will help to strengthen peace, security and stability in the Middle East.”
Mr Putin also wished the Iraqi people prosperity and wellbeing.
