Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, at the Vietnamese side’s initiative.

Nguyen Phu Trong expressed deep condolences over the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.

The leaders had an in-depth discussion on bilateral relations, focusing on further development of mutually beneficial trade and economic, scientific and technological cooperation, and humanitarian exchanges. The parties specifically stressed that Russia and Vietnam hold similar positions on the international agenda, and expressed confidence that Russian-Vietnamese comprehensive strategic partnership would continue to grow stronger.

The conversation was held in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere. It was agreed to maintain dialogue at various levels, as well as personal contacts.
