Meeting of the State Council Commission on Communications, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy

Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov co-chaired a meeting of the State Council Commission on Communications, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy in the conference room at the Regional Management Centre of the Moscow Region.

Also attending were Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev, as well as deputy heads of Russian regions, representatives of federal and regional executive bodies, expert organisations, development and business institutions.

In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin said that the commission was to draw up proposals for new national projects in alignment with the strategic objectives set by the President in his Address to the Federal Assembly. In addition, the State Council Commission on Communications, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy is to draft proposals for a new national project, Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State.

This national project is designed to ensure the achievement of one of the national development goals related to the digital transformation of state and municipal administration, the economy and the social sphere.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev, and Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies Eduard Lysenko delivered reports.

The participants were informed about the Moscow Region’s experience in implementing the ongoing national project, Digital Economy. They discussed plans for the new national project, Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State, considered applying Moscow’s experience to this project, and discussed the priority tasks and key challenges that Russian regions will be addressing until 2030.

Following the discussion, Andrei Vorobyov noted that the commission would analyse every proposal coming from the regions or made by businesses, research and expert organisations, and would take them into account while working on the new national project.
