Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law on Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information, and the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law broadens the list of entities subject to restrictions concerning access to information published in violation of copyrights as stipulated by the Federal Law On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information. The amendments also establish procedures for limiting access to Internet websites that repeatedly and unlawfully publish information containing copyrighted material or information that has to be copyrighted. In addition, the law requires website owners to provide contact information.
The Federal Law stipulates making corresponding amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.
