The President flew an upgraded Tu-160M strategic bomber-missile carrier.
The plane took off from the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant that Vladimir Putin visited the day before. The flight lasted about 30 minutes.
Upon returning from the flight, the President shared his impressions of the updated bomber/missile carrier, pointing to its high reliability and armed capability, better aircraft control and increased level of crew comfort.
“The technology is excellent. It really belongs to a new generation. Of course, it can be accepted by the Armed Forces,” the President summed up.
