Russia-Kazakhstan talks

Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks in Astana.

The official welcome ceremony for Vladimir Putin by the President of Kazakhstan took place earlier.

The heads of state met in a restricted format, after which the consultations continued with the delegation members.

Following the talks, the parties signed a package of documents, including a Joint Statement on the 10th anniversary of the Agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan on Good-Neighbourly Relations and Alliance in the 21st Century.

They also signed a Joint Action Plan between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024–2026. The signed documents included memoranda of understanding and cooperation on construction projects for the Kokshetau Thermal Power Plant, the Semey Thermal Power Plant, and the Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant (Republic of Kazakhstan) as well as on labour inspections, action plans on interaction between customs services and on the development of cooperation in athletics and sports. In addition, they signed an agreement on information partnership between the Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS) and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made statements for the media.

Its agenda is focused on the key matters pertaining to further expanding the strategic partnership and allied bilateral relations, as well as the prospects for working together within Eurasian integration associations, and topical regional and international matters.
