Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
The President of Iran fully supported the actions of the Russian leadership in connection with the events of June 24.
Vladimir Putin and Ebrahim Raisi discussed prospects for the further expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and prioritised the practical implementation of current agreements regarding trade, energy and transportation.
They also touched upon certain issues on the international agenda, including efforts to maintain stability in the South Caucasus and the Syrian peace settlement.
Vladimir Putin congratulated the leadership and people of Iran on the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
The presidents agreed to continue their personal contacts.
